Lugano 2022

The property is located inside the urban fabric in a densely populated neighborhood. The property is occupied by an old two-floors house where the landowner lives. We were asked to design a new building for this site, also considering  the fact the current owner will move into the new building.

The project  strongly densify the property through a new six-floors building, allowing for a sustainable approach in contrast with low density suburban sprawl: densifying the urban fabric, where appropriate, will safe precious landscape elsewhere and reduce commuting time.

The design moves from the new two-floors penthouse for the landowner. This apartment is designed as a villa, with double heights, a big terrace and a reflecting pool.

Below the penthouse, twelve apartments of different size are interlocked in a dynamic way.Lugano 2022
